The first session of the English club this semester （今学期最初の英語部活動）

The opening ceremony was held on September 1.

We held the first session of this semester and all eight members of my English club attended and were eager to learn.

I gave them an assignment, six pages of an English comic book, to translate into Japanese.
They tackled the task, cooperating, and some Grade 1 students stayed as long as 2hours to finish it.
They were absorbed in the activity and asked me several questions. Later, they compared their translations with the original book.

I feel fortunate that they were motivated to improve their English at the beginning of this semester and hope that they will continue to do their best.

9月1日に始業式が行われました。

私たちは今学期最初のセッションを行い、英語部の8名全員が揃い、熱心に学びました。

私は皆に、漫画「進撃の巨人」の英語版を6ページ分配信し、皆でそれを和訳しました。
彼らはこのタスクに協力して熱心に取り組み、1年生の数名は終わるまで2時間かけて残りました。
部員たちは作業に熱中し、私にいくつかの質問をしました。後で、自分たちの翻訳と原典を見比べました。

部員たちが今学期の初めにおいてもとてもやる気があることを幸運に思い、皆がこれからもベストを尽くすことを願っています。（石川）
